In the distant 1930s, António Vieira de Abreu, a native of Funchal, Madeira Island, set up a small family business in Estoril selling Madeira embroidery.
Some years later, he opened his first store of Madeira embroidery in Lisbon, on a first floor at Rua Augusta, in downtown Baixa district.
Later, the business was continued by his descendants, first by his children and now his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arte Rústica is one of the stores established by the family with now over 50 years of history.
Currently the shop is not limited to the island embroidery and also embraces traditional crafts from the North to the South of Portugal.
We are a genuinely Portuguese craft store .
Over the years we strived to preserve the best of Portuguese culture and traditions.
Our parts are carefully chosen in order to ensure the best quality.
Welcome to Arte Rústica.
